Well, the time has come friends. I have a new blog! I wanted one where "outside" people can comment cause I always get messages from people trying to figure out how to comment on Vox. Plus I think Blogger looks a little more grown up...no ads and all. Anyway, I will miss you all! Come and see me at my new blog!

On eof the things I love about Bellingham...we are right on the water so we always get these "Severe weather warnings" and right now one is in effect for Thursday.! Yay! Okay, that might sound weird...it's not like I want a hurricane or something. I just like getting all cozy inside with blankets and candles and hot tea (well, lukewarm if the power is out). And of course you can still knit by candle light. Thats the best time actually.
New yarn!! Custom order and oh so fall-like:
Let me just say, I love this colorway!! I might have to make one for myself. But don't I say that about every colorway?...
In other news, if you are in the Portland area, go to THIS! Gah! I can't wait to get back there. I'm missing so much cool crafty stuff! And DIY Alert...the coolest ever. I highly recommend subscribing if you are into the Portland crafty scene. The latest podcast, Craftypod, even inspired me to bust out my neglected plastic canvas DS Lite case and re-do the sides, like I had planned on doing a year ago. New and improved pics coming soon...
I'll never say I have too much yarn ever again.
I think I'm going to start updating my Etsy shop on Fridays only? Maybe? I've been updating like 3 times per week, and maybe I should save all the yarn-y goodness for Fridays? Anyway...
Just to clear up a bit of confusion, I am not naked in my profile pic. I am wearing a tanktop. A cute white one. M'kay?
NEW yarn...merino and silk! yum...
Brisk as a single-ply...
Serendipity Beyond Design made a whole blog post about me and the yarn I made for her! Woohoo!! Check it yo: *CLICK me*
And here's the new yarn that's up in my Etsy shop that she mentioned at the end of the post. Merino and silk ya'll. Yum:
YAY! :o)
We are back home again from our many driving-across-the-state-of-WA-adventures. William's best friend is officially hitched, and all is well.
I am in the midst of making what are, I must say, some pretty freaking rad Christmas presents. Alas, I cannot divulge that secret Christmas info here because there are possible present recievers reading this. Unfortunately this means that Buttoney has been neglected. But tonight is my little knit night down on the water, so Buttoney will receive some much needed attention then.
7 more months till we move back home (P-town)! We are counting down. I think we should make a paper chain of rings and break one every day. Ya know, like you did when you were a kid counting down till Christmas?...Here's some new yarn for Spindelicious Handspun, inspired by the awesome quilt that we have in our bedroom
...k, even with the waist shaping it's too damn big. I like form fitting sweaters so the question is frog back PAST the armholes in order to make them smaller, there by altering the width? Or just just finish it and have a somewhat roomy, "cozy" sweater? I think I better just finish it or I'll NEVER finish it. I do like my button choice though...
Yar! Super busy weekend and super busy week ahead. Besides driving for over 10 hrs in 2 days over the weekend(only to do the trip again this Thursday) I got a couple yarns done, one for my Etsy shop, one for NW Handspun Yarns (I'm also adding a few from my Etsy shop to NW Handspun)...it's really hard deciding what to put in my Etsy shop vs. what to put in the store. Anyways...I didn't get very far on my Buttoney since I decided to hang out with friends instead of sit on the couch and knit. But I did realize that the Buttoney was getting a little too big so I'm doing some waist shaping and I hope that it magically becomes more form fitting. Blah...here's some yarn treats for your hungry eyes:
Night Swimming is super lofty and soft and bulky weight. SO freaking soft. I adore Blue-faced Leicester. Cold weather calls for bulkier yarns in my opinion. Plus it's just fun to knit (or crochet).
And here's the yarn for NW Handspun...a variation on my A Little Night Music coloway...I call this one Cabin in the Woods
Blue-faced Leicester! Yeah!
Just got done with another custom order, this time it's for Ginger at Serendipity Beyond Design. She wanted a scarf that would match her new Pumas! So here we go...Blue-faced Leicester, angora, and mohair locks. SUPER soft...
I love doing custom orders! People have such fun ideas. I also took pics of the complete process so Ginger could post it on her blog, so I'm sure those will be popping up on here soon as well.
In Buttoney news...we are going home this weekend for Will's best friend's bachelor party, so I'll have a bajillion hrs. in the car to finally finish my Buttoney. Hopefully.
