I think I'm going to start updating my Etsy shop on Fridays only? Maybe? I've been updating like 3 times per week, and maybe I should save all the yarn-y goodness for Fridays? Anyway...
Just to clear up a bit of confusion, I am not naked in my profile pic. I am wearing a tanktop. A cute white one. M'kay?
NEW yarn...merino and silk! yum...
Brisk as a single-ply...
Yar! Super busy weekend and super busy week ahead. Besides driving for over 10 hrs in 2 days over the weekend(only to do the trip again this Thursday) I got a couple yarns done, one for my Etsy shop, one for NW Handspun Yarns (I'm also adding a few from my Etsy shop to NW Handspun)...it's really hard deciding what to put in my Etsy shop vs. what to put in the store. Anyways...I didn't get very far on my Buttoney since I decided to hang out with friends instead of sit on the couch and knit. But I did realize that the Buttoney was getting a little too big so I'm doing some waist shaping and I hope that it magically becomes more form fitting. Blah...here's some yarn treats for your hungry eyes:
Night Swimming is super lofty and soft and bulky weight. SO freaking soft. I adore Blue-faced Leicester. Cold weather calls for bulkier yarns in my opinion. Plus it's just fun to knit (or crochet).
And here's the yarn for NW Handspun...a variation on my A Little Night Music coloway...I call this one Cabin in the Woods
Blue-faced Leicester! Yeah!
So here it is. The pain in the a** yarn, but it turned out elegant and lovely...blend of Ram, mohair, bamboo, merino, silk, angora, a little baby camel, Romney, local wool, plied alternating sparkly cream ribbon and thread.
And I finished "Gyspy Glam"...and it weighs a half pound! I wanna keep it for myself, but I'm gonna be selling at the fiber arts marketplace at the 6th Street Gallery at the end of this month, so I think I'll take this along.Back from Rebel Rabbit and it was great! My Etsy Shop is now officially open if you wanna check out some of my handspun goodness:
...That's what I'm listening to. Can't go wrong with Sufjan.
Getting ready to go home and do Rebel Rabbit! I managed to skip town last week, but here's a couple more things that I spun up in the last couple days:
I was thinking of Titania, Queen of the Fairies. In Merino, bamboo, local wool that I scoured meself!, and mohair.
Sea Urchin is made up of a TON of various fibers , alot I got from my fiber swap with Melissa (Moustacherides). Let's see, there is merino, alpaca, silk, dryer lint, domestic wool, silky thread thingies, bling bling, some unidentified stuff, bamboo...
And, I got my business license! Now I'm all professional and stuff...
We had a lovely day yesterday. I just realized just this year that I think the 4th of July is stupid. I won't elaborate any further. My husband wondered what took me so long to come to that realization.
Anywho, William and I went on a beautiful 2 hr. bike ride through the inter-urban trail and along the waterfront. It was a prefect 78 degrees outside. We had a picnic on the docks, biked home and had a yum greek dinner and peach pie for desert. And capped off the evening with Die Hard. The first one. Which I hadn't seen since I was like, 8 years old or something. I'm a sucker for action flicks. And I even got in some spinning. Here's a few from the last 3 days:
Hope you all had a beautiful 4th! Even though it's stupid :o)
So I had the day off from being super-nanny, so I got to dye 2.5 pounds of fiber in my tiny kitchen. Still have around 3 left to go!
I also went a little brighter, hair-color wise My cat. I'm obsessed. He's just so cute and fun. Sorry...
haha! Somehow he managed to stuff himself in that little bitty box. Okay, back to the crafty-ness..."Nature is Ancient":
Glo-bug #2 is lighter and loftier than the previous one...
And something I'm working on in the midst of the dyeing. I have around 3 more pounds to go. I'm a little obsessed with the delicious squish of Merino lately.
